REVEIL 2015 STREAMS

Grégoire Lauvin with Locus Sonus

Permanent stream on the Locus Sonus network, from a goat shed in woodland South East of Aix en Provence.

Long standing stream, orginally solar, now mains powered, using a Raspberry Pi with 3G to relay sounds from a rural location in the hills.

When the goats are in the shed, they can be heard moving about. Sometimes the goatherds can be heard tending to them. Hooves, bells, in the Spring, young goats bleating. In the early morning, they are milked, as in the recording from Reveil 2014.

When the goats are out, the soundscape is more open: collared doves, jays, other birds, from outside the shed. Wind and rain.

This stream forms part of the ongoing Echo-In project, for which Grégoire Lauvin has set up many streams in different locations and made them available in the city of Aix en Provence, creating acoustic spatial transpositions in miniature.

Other microphone locations have included a belfry with pigeons and a cave with dripping water.

This and other streams are part of the Locus Sonus open microphone network and its associated research, projects and resources.
